How to Make Crab Salad

It only takes a few minutes to make our recipe for crab salad. You’ll start by chopping the imitation crab meat, onions, and tomatoes into small pieces and adding it all to a bowl. The next step is to stir in enough mayonnaise to hold the ingredients together. You’ll finish it off with a sprinkling of salt, pepper, and celery seed to taste. At that point, it’s ready to serve right away. This crab salad recipe is easy and quick to make!

Follow these steps to make our easy crab salad recipe:

1. Chop the Imitation Crab Meat, Onions, and Tomatoes

To get started with this recipe, chop the imitation crab meat into small bite-sized pieces. Next, chop the onion into small pieces. Once that’s done, cut the tomatoes into ½ inch to ¾ inch cubes. Place all of these ingredients into a medium-sized bowl.

2. Add the Mayonnaise to the Chopped Ingredients

The next step is to add the mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip) to the ingredients you just finished chopping. Add ¼ cup to ½ cup of mayo or Miracle Whip to the bowl. The goal is to add just enough mayo to hold the ingredients together. If you like it creamier, add more mayonnaise.

3. Sprinkle Salt, Pepper, and Celery on Top

After you’ve combined all of the ingredients, finish it off with a light sprinkling of salt and pepper and some celery seed.

4. Serve the Imitation Crab Meat Salad Immediately

We recommend serving this imitation crab meat salad right away, so the tomatoes don’t release too much of their juice into the salad. If you need to prepare this salad well in advance of serving it, be sure to chill it thoroughly in the refrigerator. You can also consider stirring in the tomatoes just before serving it.

Serve this imitation crab meat salad with crackers or a baguette, sliced and grilled in butter. Enjoy and be prepared to make this easy crab salad recipe for your family and friends again soon!
